Biden uses Akin, Mourdock remarks to slam Romney on abortion

KENOSHA, Wis. Vice President Joe Biden on Friday invoked the controversial comments of Republican Senate candidates Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock in blasting what he called his presidential rivals' rigid stance against abortion rights.

"Here's the truth: They made it very, very clear, made it very clear that they do not believe a woman has a right to control her own body," Biden said of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan at a rally here. "They can't even get up the gumption to condemn the statements made by two of their candidates for United States Senate. It's not enough to tell me you don't agree. It's having the moral courage to stand up and say what they said was wrong, simply wrong."

Romney, however, did label Akin's comment that women's bodies have ways of avoiding pregnancy in what Akin called "legitimate rape" as "offensive and wrong" and said in August that he should have left his race against incumbent Missouri Democrat Claire McCaskill.

The former Massachusetts governor's campaign has said that it disagrees with Indiana Senate candidate Mourdock's explanation this week that women should not have access to abortion in cases of rape because it is "something that God intended to happen."

But it has not withdrawn Romney's endorsement of Mourdock or asked that an ad on the candidate's behalf stop running. Democrats have highlighted the statement in the closely-contested race, with the Obama campaign on Friday launching a web ad and microsite devoted to the issue.

OK, so we have Biden slamming Romney for what Akin and Mourdock said. Fair enough. Where's the story where Biden, himself, said to a dead Navy Seal's father during the casket arrival in the US, 'Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?' If Romney or Ryan had said that, it would be above the fold on page one all across the country. Because it might harm the POTUS, nothing but crickets.

Romney is a slime-ball who will say anything to get elected with a lot of former George W. Bush associates as advisors and he's talking about real change? C'mon people!
Vote Obama / Biden 2012. If Romney wins there are those who are salivating for another opportunity to rape and pillage for the almighty dollar and think about little else other than their own position, that Romney's policies will unleash and permit to exploit again!

My rape, pillage allusion refers to the actions and resulting condition our economy was left in after George W's run in office! You know, where tens and hundreds of millions were made by a relatively small percentage of folks while a 'vastly larger number' lost their pensions, saw life savings shrivel-up and home values plummet; all while having to dance to the tune of the reckless, greedy Wall Street, Bain Capital, Uber-Capitalist types and their allies in Congress!
It is this unmitigated morass and mess that President Obama has been trying to navigate and rectify with zero, I repeat, zero Republican support throughout his entire term in office. For those in the 99% voting for Romney, it will be the 2nd greatest mistake middle-class America has made since voting George W. Bush in for another term in office in 2004, should Romney be elected.

Vote for Obama/Biden if you believe in "though shalt not kill?" Um. Willard has a string of ex-Bush advisors - the ones who drove us into Iraq. Now they're talking about starting at least two more wars. How much killing are you willing to overlook by the GOP before you remember that line about not killing?!

How do you define "lying"? And what is the special significance of Benghazi, give the enormous laundry list of problems that this country needs to fix? How about Mitt's bald-faced lie in the first debate that his tax cuts don't add up to five trillion dollars? You don't need any more mathematical skill than a 7th grader to multiply 20% by the total taxable income of people in the top income group that Mitt wants to protect. 20% of 25 trillion was five trillion, when I went to school. The 5 T figure came from a respected non-partisan economics group. and what about the totally unsupported claim that Mitt's magically going to create 12 million new jobs. Another simple declarative statement.

Moodies says 12M jobs will be created regardless of who's in office. So Willard pretending it's gonna be because of him is just BS.

A Teapublican majority's scenario: War on Women. Attack women's freedom of choice with 1000 antiabortion bills, women's health curtailing access to contraceptives. R.Mo Todd Akins thrashing rape victims. Rush Limbaugh naming student Sandra Fluke a "****", Va Governor (ultrasound) McDonnell forcing devises in women needing abortions. Joe Walsh, R.Ill: "Not one instance where abortion necessary to save woman's life." Richard Mourdock, R.IN: pregnancy from rape "a gift from God." Romney changing the Supreme Court to repeal Roe v Wade. Even mentioning abortion might land you in jail.

Someone needs to ask Mourdock if he understands that if pregnancy resulting from rape is "something that God intended to happen," then the election of Barack Obama was also "something that God intended to happen."

Biden is showing America the idiot and buffoon that he is again.
Romney never said that he agreed with what Akin and Mourdock said, not that it wasn't the truth the left wingnut Pro-Aborts twisted and spun to try and demonize them when in fact it is the sick left that cannot kill enough unborn babies to satisfy their blood lust and agenda on population control.

Well, I think you're the buffoon. Mourdock is the first person who proudly professes to be a Christian I've ever heard of who believes in predestination. That's not what my bible says in either the old or new testaments. And as for your charges about the left wanting to kill unborn babies, I challenge you to find words from any liberal or progressive person who has ever taken that position. There are a ton of intelligent people who believe that a woman should have control over her own body - and the Supreme Court supported that position in Roe vs Wade, which according to the Constitution of the United States, makes it the law of the land. No-one should have the right to dictate their religious beliefs on any other citizen of this great country.

If you don't like the way the Constitution is written, perhaps youshould look for another country where elected officials can impose

Calvinists believe in predestination, but I have no idea if you have ever met one.
