Obama campaign ad hits Romney on abortion

At the debate in Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., moderator Bob Schiffer asked Barack Obama and Mitt Romney how they each view the role of the United States on the international stage.

At the debate in Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., moderator Bob Schiffer asked Barack Obama and Mitt Romney how they each view the role of the United States on the international stage.

Not letting up on the abortion issue, the Obama campaign released a new ad slamming Mitt Romney, asserting the candidate talks out of both sides of his mouth.

A new ad released by the Obama campaign asks "which do you believe? What Mitt Romney's TV ads say about women or what Mitt Romney himself says?"

The ad plays several edited clips of Romney saying he would support the "overturn Roe v. Wade," the landmark Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. It also shows Romney saying he'd "cut off funding to Planned Parenthood," the women's health clinics that also provide abortion and contraception services.

"We know what he'll do," a woman narrator concludes.

The ad does not mention Romney-endorsed Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock, who said a pregnancy resulting from rape is God's intent, but the ad was released the day after the Mourdock controversy broke. It is airing in Florida, Colorado, Iowa, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia.

Meantime, a Florida-focused TV ad by the 60 Plus Association is charging the president with slashing Medicare.

"Medicare's going bankrupt," singer and Romney supporter Pat Boone says in the TV ad airing in senior-heavy areas of West Palm Beach and Fort Myers. "He took $700 billion from Medicare to pay for his new health care law."

"Mitt Romney will strengthen Medicare, so it's there for seniors and our grand kids," Boone adds.

Also running in Florida - and two other battleground states - is a new series of radio ads from the Romney campaign highlighting Monday's debate back-and-forth between the candidates on the issue of the size of the Navy.

"Our Navy now is smaller than any time since 1917. The Navy said they needed 313 ships to carry out their mission; we're now down to 285. That's unacceptable to me," a clip of Romney says in the ad running in Virginia, Florida and New Hampshire.

In the minute-long spot, the narrator mocks the president's "punchline" from the final presidential debate where he said the U.S. has "fewer horses and bayonets." The narrator says cuts to the Navy are "crucial" and notes the number of naval jobs specific to the state where the ad is airing: 136,000 in Virginia, 41,900 in Florida and 3,600 in New Hampshire.

"As Commander-in-Chief, Mitt Romney will reverse Obama's defense cuts. He will invest in our military, creating jobs, and defending our freedom," the narrator concludes.

Republican President Ronald Reagan signed into law "The Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982", THE BIGGEST TAX INCREASE IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES.

Bill Black, a former Bank Regulator and the man that exposed the Reagan Savings & Loan fiasco, the crisis that happened on another "Republican" watch, noted that during the G.W. Bush Jr. Administration, the largest incidence of bank perpetrated white collar crime in the history of the world was publicly reported as an "epidemic" by the FBI in 2004 and in 2008 these same criminals "ran the table" on the American economy (500 white collar crime investigating FBI agents were pulled off the case by the Bush Administration). YET THE DEMOCRATS MISMANAGED THE ECONOMY AND OBAMA IS TO BLAME?

What is wrong with you people? OBAMA/BIDEN 2012 !!!

Taylorsucram - The economic downfall of this country began under Clinton's watch when Fannie and Freddie issued epic amounts of mortgage-backed debt. This was followed under Bush when Pelosi and Reid from 2007-2010 went on a spending spree like no other and would not rein in Fannie and Freddie although Bush told them many times they had to. Those same years the Dems controlled both Houses. Since Obama took office we have gone from a $1.4 trillion debt, which took 8 years to reach, to $16 trillion in less than 4 years. Yeah, I'd say Obama and the Dems share more than a bit of the blame. Romney/Ryan 2012 - Better Safe Than Sorry for Another 4 Years!!!

Fact: 40 million abortions world-wide every year

Fact: Democratic Party platform on abortion: The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, Regardless of Ability to Pay" ....[i.e. free, or tax payer paid abortions for everyone!!!]

Fact: Obama opposed the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act and has done nothing as President to limit late-term abortions

Fact: 2009, Obama signed an executive order to allow taxpayer dollars to non--governmental organizations that perform abortions abroad.

Truth: Romney opposes funding programs with taxpayer dollars that support, encourage, and promote abortion, including Planned Parenthood.

Truth: Romney believes that abortion is the wrong choice except in cases of incest, rape, and to protect the life of the mother. He supports legislation allowing the states to individually decide on the legality of abortion.

Truth: Obama's campaign is trying to scare women voters anyway they can to win the election.

Truth is, we have a responsibility to stand for what is moral and right.

Vote Romney!!

Obama's been caught in so many lies lately, including the last debate, that he doesn't know what he's saying. He's been promoting the same platform since 2007 and we're worse off than we were when he took office. The GM bailout resulted in huge losses for shareholders and GM cars are now being built in China. Equal pay for women is not recognized in the White House where it is a hostile workplace for women as well. $1 trillion in spending cuts? Taylorsucram - don't you mean $1 trillion/yr in spending over the last 4 years and a $16 trillion debt? Medicare not protected; $716 billion was taken from it and put in Obamacare. 11 million illegal aliens given amnesty by Obama which means 11 million more American jobs will be take away. College tuition is up 25% in the last 4 years. 23 million Americans still out of work. Country has never been as divisive, both gender and color, in our history. I'll take a chance on Romney/Ryan - they sure as heck can't do any worse.

Prove to me that a zygote has a VIABLE HEARBEAT!!!!!!!
______________

Abortion stops a beating heart !

many abortions occur, way after the zygote stage.

Just 6 weeks into a preganacy, a heart is beating.

but, what is your real motive here ? to desensitize people to killing a life, because it's somehow less human at a unborn baby's beginning stage ?....explain why you need to "prove it doesn't have a heartbeat".....is that to make yourself and your fellow libs feel better when you support abortion, "it's just cells"....yeah, the beginning of a human life.

I nearly lost a pregnancy at five weeks I had to have an invasive ultrasound to ascertain whether I was still pregnant. I saw the images. its a very small group of cells. Apparently theres' a heartbeat certainly not a fully formed heart and no brain to work it. If a scientist keeps a pig's heart alive by circulating my blood through it, tell me, is that a life form worth protecting without reference to my consent?

A baby's heart starts beating 22 days after conception. For those males who appear to be ignorant, be advised that at this young age it is a human being. Perhaps not fully formed but its' heart is beating, spinal cord is forming, etc., etc. Which is why there are those of us who are against murdering innocent, unborn babies because it interferes with a woman's lifestyle and considered an inconvenience. And that is why most abortions occur - because the woman doesn't use contraceptives and ends up pregnant with a baby she doesn't want. There are all kinds of contraceptives out there, most costing around $9/month, so there's no excuse.

Obama clearly doesn't realize that women have other concerns than strictly abortion and government-paid contraceptives. As another CBS article today pointed out, Romney has all but obliterated the 16 point advantage Obama once held with women. Women are concerned about jobs and about a brighter future for their families. Through the debates they've had a chance to see Romney as a compassionate human being, far different from the scary, robotic person portrayed by the media and Obama campaign up till now. They recognize that he has the credentials required to significantly improve our economy, which will do much more to improve their overall well being and that of their families than the government handouts that Obama is promising and the stagnation that he has delivered in his first term.

Women are now showing what fools they realy are, if they are leaning in Mitts favor. That's what we really need is a Billionaire to lead this country. especially one that can't relate to most american problems. Jobs foreign relations and of course the 47% he doesn't care about.
borderbully replies:

I'm with you PRM. The Dems think all women are stupid and look at them from the waist down. They don't consider that we are intelligent human beings. Contrary to what the chauvinist males on here think, women voters are moving over to Romney's side. I can't believe the attitudes on here concerning the utter disregard for the lives of innocent babies. I guess they really believe it's okay to murder a living baby after its' birth. Because that's what is happening. Obama voted 4 times (twice as a state senator and twice as a U.S. senator) against the Kill Baby Bill which was a bill against late term abortion and after birth killing of a baby. If that's the kind of person people want leading this country then they should vote for him. As for me, I'd rather have a president with morals and who values human life. Obama is not one of those people.

And therefore cut spending for children's education, infrastructure, WIC, veterans' assistance and the VA, unemployment, disability (support for downs syndrome etc), loans and grants for start-ups, loans and grants for those who want to improve their job skills prospects by going to college, cutting the numbers of police and fire departments. Those things are currently under threat and now Romney was to take further money away from that and put it into ships instead into new technologies.

Come on people the future in the military is not the same thing as what was needed in the 60's when Romney was hitch hiking through France thus the reference for horses and bayonets...DUH!
