(CBS News) The Spice Girls reunited Sunday for a performance during the star-studded closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown - aka Posh Spice, Baby Spice, Ginger Spice, Sporty Spice and Scary Spice - sang their hits "Wannabe" and "Spice Up Your Life" while riding around the Olympic Stadium atop bedazzled taxi cabs.

It was the first time the British '90s group has performed together since their reunion tour more than four years ago. Earlier this year, the quintet came together to announce details of "Viva Forever," a musical based on their songs that is set to begin in London this fall.

Beckham was featured in the closing ceremony twice - during the Spice Girls performance, and earlier in the show, when one of her designs appeared in the portion of the evening celebrating British fashion.

After the performance, she tweeted a photo of the "Girl Power" group posing together:

Tell us: What did you think of the Spice Girls' performance?

Worst closing show I think I've ever seen. Most of the music was prerecorded and lip synced. It should have been a celebration for all countries but it turned out to be a pompus British "Celebrity" gag fest. Madonna would be prould but I'm sure Elton John was appaled.

burtwoody didn't make a fool of himself..the Spice girls made fools of themselves. What is about over the hill so called pop stars.,.they are performers as many of the performers were tonight. This was a horrible closing for the Olympics..The only performer who wasn't there except in spirit was John Lennon...the rest of the show was boring, and terrible...what a waste of time..we kept waiting for something to happen but it didn't so we just changed channels. We felt sorry for the people who had to sit thru this mess...and I do mean Mess...

It's soooo easy to whine and complain. I wonder what the closing ceremony would have been like if they had put YOU in it, instead.
