Sarah Ferguson says royal wedding snub was "difficult"

(CBS/AP) CHICAGO - Sarah Ferguson tells Oprah Winfrey it was "difficult" not to be invited to Prince William's wedding to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, last month.

The Duchess of York says in an interview scheduled to air Wednesday on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that she went to Thailand instead. Ferguson says she wanted to be with her daughters, who attended the wedding with their father and Ferguson's ex husband, Prince Andrew.

Ferguson also told Winfrey she believes Prince William's mother, the late Princess Diana, "would be so proud of her son."

The Duchess of York is set to have a show on Winfrey's new cable station, OWN. The six-part docu-series, called "Finding Sarah," will focus on Ferguson getting her life back on track, with help from "Oprah" regulars like Suze Orman and Dr. Phil McGraw.

Last year, Ferguson talked to Winfrey about being caught on video offering access to Prince Andrew for $724,000. She told Winfrey at the time that she had financial problems, had been drinking when the video was made and apologized for her lapse of judgment.

Winfrey is ending her talk show this month after 25 years.

Her daughters have no class, that was apparent in the way they were dressed in those ridiculous outfits and hats. She is just a hanger on. She makes me ashamed to be English. She's a liar, but then so is Prince Charles. She's as bad as the rest of them. I tend to agree, she earned the snub from the royal family when she had her "lapse in judgment" offering to provide access to Charles for $724,000. She's also an EX Wife of the prince, not his current wife. Yes, I agree she would have been had Di been alive, but she's not. As it was I think her daughters were making a statement of defiance in their God-awful outfits/hats. Eugenie's dress was a disaster and Bea's hat was the worst thing I think I've ever seen on someone's head.

I wish someone would give me a talk show so I can whine about all the things that have gone wrong in my life and how I had to go to Thailand (in my case the grocery store) because I wasn't invited to the royal wedding.

Wasn't she broke just a little while ago? But she obviously had enough money to go on an expensive vacation to soothe her poor little feelings.And now Oprah, sucking up to the rich and famous as always, offering her a TV series. At least we know Fergie won't be getting any real help from Dr. Phil, the Snake Oil Salesman.

Oh yeah, I really feel for poor little Fergie.

Hahahahaha! I think you have it backwards. Oprah IS the rich and famous. She's more rich and famous than anyone else. All the celebritie's goals are to get on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Oprah got where she is today because she's SMART. Can't say that for most celebrities.
