NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Former child star Gary Coleman is in critical condition and was admitted to a hospital near his Utah home.

While the exact details are unclear, Coleman's brother-in-law told TMZ that the actor sustained a head injury after a fall.

Facing his third medical emergency this year, Coleman was reportedly transported to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center on Wednesday with what his family calls a "serious medical problem."

This past February, the pint-sized actor suffered a seizure while on the set of TV's "The Insider" and was breifly hospitalized in January as well.

However, the hospital spokeswoman, Janet Frank, confirmed with People that Coleman is indeed a patient at the Provo hospital. "He's listed in critical condition. He was admitted Wednesday. We are not confirming what department he's in or any further details," Frank said.

His family and wife, Shannon Price, declined to release any further details about his condition at this time.

The 42-year-old actor is best known for his TV role as Arnold Jackson in the American sitcom, "Diff'rent Strokes," which aired from 1978-1986.

It's a shame Coleman has been plagued with health and legal issues most of his life. He was a sickly child in Chicago when he was discovered doing commercials. Hope both problems get resolved. Prayers to you kid.
