Watch: Jeremy Lin captivates family, fans in Taiwan

Linsanity has gone global.

In Taiwan, fans and family members were cheering for NBA sensation Jeremy Lin as he led the Knicks over the Toronto Raptors Tuesday night. Lin, whose parents emigrated from Taiwan to the U.S. in the 70s, is the first Taiwanese-American to play in the NBA.

According to AP Television, nearly 100 people packed a bar in Taipei at 8 a.m. to watch a live broadcast of the game -- which was won by the Knicks when Lin drilled a tie-breaking three-pointer with less than a second to play.

Lin's family in Taiwan got emotional watching the game, according to Reuters.

"Jeremy Lin is the pride of our family, I am so happy," said Lin's aunt in Changhua, Taiwan. (See video above)

Lin had 27 points and a career-high 11 assists in his first game since being named Eastern Conference player of the week.

In Taiwan, nearly every news network regularly interrupted their news coverage to report on scores of the game, Reuters reports. Lin has appeared on all the local newspapers front pages in Taipei and is inspiring young basketball players in the country.

Eleven-year-old Lin Hsin-hsiang told Reuters that he owns the country's biggest collection of Jeremy Lin autographed items - and even got a picture with the budding NBA star at a basketball camp in Taipei.

"He saw our photographs together on Facebook, and he added me on Facebook," the boy said.
