Watch: LSU coach Les Miles blasted by radio host after BCS loss

NEW ORLEANS, LA - JANUARY 09: Head coach Les Miles of the Louisiana State University Tigers looks on from the sidelines against the Alabama Crimson Tide during the 2012 Allstate BCS National Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Superdome on January 9, 2012 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (CBS/AP) - In the wake of Alabama's demolition of LSU in the BCS title game, many Louisiana fans are questioning Tigers coach Les Miles' decisions during the game. One such fan is former Saints quarterback turned New Orleans radio show host Bobby Hebert, who chewed out coach Miles in the post-game news conference. During the conference, Hebert asked a long-winded question that sounded more like an interrogation.

"Coach Miles, did you ever consider bringing in Jarreyy Lee considering that you weren't taking any chanes down field," Hebert started, but was far from done. " Now, I know Alabama's defense is dominant. But come on. That's ridiculous - five first downs. It's almost the approach - I'll tell you from the fans' standpoint that how could you not maybe push the ball down the field and bring in Jarrett Lee. So what if you gave up a pick-six. It seems like the game plan, y'all were not pushing the ball down field but ... passes like to a Reuben Randle or Odell Beckham Jr. I know the pass rushing of Alabama. There's no reason why five first downs. They're a great defense. But that's ridiculous."

At that point the moderator asked, "Do you have a question?"

Hebert, whose son T-Bob is an offensive lineman for the Tigers, responded, "No, that's the question. Do you think you should have pushed the football more down the field?"

Miles said he and his coaches thought Lee's lack of mobility was a bad matchup for Alabama's pass rush. "We did consider Jarrett Lee. But we felt like with the pass rush that we were getting that we needed a guy that could move the seat and not sustain that pass rush," Miles said.

In a world of soft-ball sports reporter questions, Hebert's outburst was enough to silence the press conference room. But as a lifelong Louisianan, Hebert was voicing frustrations that many in the fan base are feeling after watching their undefeated Tigers get blanked by Alabama's suffocating defense.

For his part, Jarrett Lee, a senior who went 9-0 as a starter before being pulled for Jordan Jefferson, has no regrets.

"It's just been a crazy ride but I don't regret it at all," Lee said after not playing a snap in LSU's 21-0 loss to Alabama in Monday night's title game. "It's made me a better player, a better person. So I really enjoyed it. ... It's been special. I met some special people here."

Bear with me here,I will not blame Jordan Jefferson,Jared Lee or any player on the LSU team for their performances against Alabama to me that would be like not noticing the "Elephant in the stadium".
Don't even try to make me believe that Crimsom tide's talent level is 21 times as greater than that of LSU on the field.
It is so much easier to regard the LSU coaching staff's game plan concepts as an "Ahab approach" to their final objective.
Nick Saban and his coaching staff did an excellent job in knowing LSU's schemes it's just to bad Les Miles's staff had NO IMMEDIATE COUNTER THAT MADE ANY SENSE.
Wonder what happens when personally know that the measure of perfection needed to accomplish a task has a low probabilty of success you either mess up or change your "normal" approach.
The key to winning against Bama comes from making them do something they weren't prepared for anything else is a setup for failure.

I hope the real criticism earned by this coaching staff doesn't get lost in the drama of Jarrett not getting to play. This LSU team was completely unprepared to play. There was obviously no well thought out game plan (I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they even had one at all). Alabama out coached LSU in every phase of the game. Don't get me wrong about Jarrett though. I do think he deserved a chance to play. I completely do not expect him to have done any better, but in recognition of his contribution to LSU all these years even though he has always received second class treatment, he should have been given a shot.

Jefferson was running scared all night. Just look at his eyes and his mannerisms. When he made stupid mistakes he looked to blame others. Even when he got time his passes were atrocious. He should have been benched to start the 2nd half. There is no way Lee could have been worse than Jefferson. How LSU played, they should have just punted on first down and kept the game moving.

Many guys at the bar, were saying the 'fix was in.' Who knows, sportscasters kept calling LSU QB Jefferson, 'George' instead of Jordan. Moving on up, indeed!
