Nick and Vanessa Lachey are parents

(CBS News) The Lacheys are now parents to a newborn son.

Celebrity couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey welcomed their first baby on Wednesday.

"We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey," the pair told People. "Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us."

The 98 Degrees singer had been anticipating the birth earlier in the week, chiming in on Twitter:

Vanessa, too, was gearing up for the becoming a mom:

Nick, 38, and Vanessa, 31, tied the knot in July 2011 after several years of dating. Nick was previously married to Jessica Simpson.
