Jessica Simpson: "My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel"
(CBS News) Jessica Simpson is opening up about losing the weight she gained while pregnant with daughter Maxwell Drew.
"I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it," she said in an interview with USA Today. "I wanted to be happy and eat what I wanted."
But, she admitted, "I didn't realize it (the weight) didn't all come off with the baby."
"I'm not a supermodel. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel," she added. "I'm just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiance and herself."
Simpson, who welcomed baby Maxwell on May 1, is a celebrity spokeswoman for Weight Watchers and will begin appearing in ads for the program next week.
She didn't reveal her starting or current weight, but did share that she's lost weight each week while following the program. Along with monitoring what she eats, Simpson does about 60 minutes of cardio a day (mostly walking, she said - "My boobs are way too big to run at this point") and works out with personal trainer Harley Pasternak four to five times a week, according to the interview.
Simpson also said that her fiance, former NFL player Eric Johnson, has been supportive.
"I have his support but not pressure," she told USA Today. "The fact that he loves me the way I am right now - we're set. He knows I want to feel better in my skin."
Simpson will reveal her post-baby body on Katie Couric's new show "Katie" on Sept. 10.
