Alec Baldwin calls Hank Williams Jr. a "broken-down, senile, racist coot"

(CBS News) Alec Baldwin took to Twitter this week to share some choice words about country singer Hank Williams Jr.

The "30 Rock" star's comments came after Williams slammed President Barack Obama during a performance last month at the Iowa State Fair, reportedly telling the crowd, "We've got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the U.S. and we hate him!"

On Tuesday, Baldwin tweeted these two messages to his followers:

If Hank Williams Jr wasn't such a pathetic, wheezing fossil, I'd have a talk with him.

Baldwin also sent another pair of messages later that day, about Mr. Obama:

If Obama was white, he'd be up by 17 points.

Certainly things could b better w this economy. But this admin'tion saved it from going off a cliff. What prevents some from seeing that?

As of Wednesday morning, Williams has not responded on his own Twitter account.

Williams is no stranger to speaking out against the president. Last October, ESPN pulled his song from the intro to "Monday Night Football" after the singer compared Mr. Obama to Hitler during an appearance on the Fox News show "Fox and Friends."

In July, he told Rolling Stone that the president "hates America in the first place, forget about the flag." Williams' latest album, "Old School, New Rules," also features several tracks that contain jabs against Mr. Obama.

Who cares about antiquated old white country singers anyway. Most have the mindset of their generation or older. They are stuck in a time warp. The good think is that these old white men will die off, and thankfully we will be left with the newer generation of which only negative stories are ever printed. I know tons of younger people who are compassionate, loving, community minded, tolerant, non judgmental and they have their OWN beliefs without expecting others to believe the same, and those that are Christians are not pimping Jesus, just quietly going about doing good things.
His music is so outdated, only oldies would listen to it anyway. The lyrics are boring and basic. My kids could come up with better lyrics and rhyming for that matter.

With regards to Alec Balwdin I don't think his behavior is very admirable either.

Before his appointment, Alikhan was Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles - in charge of public safety for the city - a position he held since 2006.
In 2007, Alikhan was instrumental in removing the Muslim terror tracking plan in Los Angeles.
Also appointed was devout Muslim Kareem Shora, who was born in Damascus, Syria. Shora is now a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC). His appointment was loudly applauded by the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Comittee (ADC).
Knowing Muslims are in DHS to protect me from Muslim Terrorists somehow doesn't make me very secure. How about you? In view of the above, I cannot conclude our President loves our country.

Several years ago Hank had a hit song titled "Country Boys Survive". Hank is a country boy. He'll survive and likely even thrive.

I doubt that I could say the same about Baldwin if he ever becomes "unemployed". He is a spoiled diva who thinks the world should step aside for him and he should be allowed to do and say anything and get by with it. He thinks he shouldn't have to follow the rules like everyone else. He thinks he should be allowed to play his video games and use his cell phone on planes even though everyone else has to turn theirs off!
