(CBS News) The Olympic stadium briefly became a catwalk on Sunday night, when a tribute to British fashion took place during the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Top models including Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell took part in the segment, all wearing clothes by famed British designers.

Trucks rolled into the arena carrying billboard-sized posters of the models. The images then fell to reveal the models themselves, all clad in gold, posing and strutting to the sounds of David Bowie's "Fashion."

All the models wore bespoke creations from designers including Alexander McQueen, Erdem, Vivienne Westwood, Christopher Kane and Burberry.

Victoria Beckham received double billing during the closing ceremony - she performed with the Spice Girls, and one of her designs was featured in the fashion segment of the show.

The Olympic Movement and the Olympic Games does not pay tribute to British Fashion or to Celebrities. It is they who should be paying tribute to the Movement and to the athletes.

Olympic ceremonies was just a an ego busting celebrity idol bust. They put lame celebrities over Olympians. It was a cheap rubbish MTV like crap shoot.

Worst closing show I think I've ever seen. Most of the music was prerecorded and lip synced. It should have been a celebration for all countries but it turned out to be a pompus British "Celebrity" gag fest. Madonna would be proud but I'm sure Sir Elton John was appaled.
