(CBS News) Los Angeles police detectives are investigating a series of death threats made on Twitter against actress Ellen Page.

One of the tweets said, "I'm going to murder Ellen Page. She's dead," according to a search warrant affidavit obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

According to TMZ, another tweet read, "Ellen Page if you continue to date Alexander [Skarsgard] I will K-1-L-L you in public in the next year ... Be it in a club, at a game, in a restaurant, or when you're signing autographs."

Detectives in the case sought a search warrant to trace the Twitter accounts of the sender, the LA Times reports. Page's management reportedly alerted the authorities and the social networking website after learning of the threats.

In addition to the Twitter threats, the LA Times added, organizers of the Los Angeles Film Festival also received phone calls from an anonymous caller threatening to kill Page, according to the search warrant affidavit. Page's film "To Rome with Love" premiered at the festival in June.

Page, 25, was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the 2007 film "Juno," and also appeared in films including "Whip It" and "Inception."
