Patrick Dempsey tweets "Grey's Anatomy" spoiler

(CBS News) Did  "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey spoil the  season opener of the ABC hit show? (SPOILER ALERT)

Dempsey tweeted a photo, in which it seems Eric Dane's McSteamy has met his demise, possibly spoiling the medical drama's newest season.

Although it is common knowledge that Dane is leaving the show in its upcoming ninth season, it was still uncertain how plastic surgeon Mark Sloan, a.k.a. McSteamy, would exit.

Dempsey posted a photo on Twitter last week of Sloan lying in a hospital bed unconscious. The tweet and photo was later taken down at the request of ABC.

"I was just told to take photos down? Abc is watching," tweeted Dempsey.

Earlier he tweeted, "Back on greys all week working with Eric, sad to see him go."
