(CBS News) The photos that caused actress Kristen Stewart and her married  "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders to issue separate apologies for cheating with each other have been released online.

Us Weekly, which advertised that it had caught the two in a "steamy rendezvous" on July 17 in Los Angeles, has now posted the photos on its website.

According to the magazine, the 22-year-old Stewart and  Sanders, a 41-year-old married father of two, were driving around L.A. looking for discreet places to embrace. A witness told the magazine they were "kissing like crazy."

Before the magazine hit newsstands, Stewart issued a statement last week to People apologizing for her "momentary indiscretion" and saying that her choice "jeopardized" her valued relationship with her boyfriend and "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson.

Saunders issued a statement to the magazine as well stating, "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."
