"The Bachelorette" finale: Emily Maynard makes her pick

Emily Maynard on the finale of "The Bachelorette."

(CBS News) Emily Maynard said "yes" to a proposal on Sunday night's finale of "The Bachelorette" - but which guy did she choose?

The single mother made her decision after Jef and Arie met her family in Curacao. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

Jef met Emily's family first. He was definitely underdressed for the occasion (jeans and a white T-shirt), but ultimately won them over and secured her father's permission to propose.

Arie's meeting with the family goes well (though perhaps not as well as Jef's did), and he also gets the OK to pop the question to Emily.

Emily and Jef go on their final date, and she's still undecided on whether or not to introduce the guys to her daughter, Ricki. Jef tells her he'd really like to meet the girl that could potentially be his future stepdaughter, and Emily decides they should go for it. She takes him back to their house in Curacao, and they spend time with Ricki in the pool. Within minutes, she's talking and playing with him and the three have what looks like a nice afternoon.

Things went so well, in fact, that Emily calls host Chris Harrison for a meeting the next day. She's sure about Jef, and doesn't even want to go on her final date with Arie.

While the race car driver is busy putting together a love potion in an herb garden and talking about how he can't wait to get engaged, Emily comes to give him the bad news. She tries to explain her feelings to him, but just dissolves into tears. He listens to her say how close he got to winning her heart, and then gets up to go.

Then, it was time for the proposal. Jef comes to profess his love for her, and she tells him she rejected Arie and that he's the only one still here. He pulls out the ring, gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him. And, even though she had initially said she was unsure about getting engaged, she said yes.

On "After the Final Rose," we find out that Emily and Jef are still happily engaged, and that Arie made an off-camera visit to North Carolina after the show in hopes of closure, but decided once he was there that it would be wrong to barge in on her life. So, he left his journal with her instead. She said she didn't read it, and handed it back during the live show.

Jef said he and Emily have been spending weekends together in "secret locations" since the finale, and that he plans to move to North Carolina to be with her and Ricki.

Emily said she was "so happy" with her final decision, but do you think she picked the right guy? Share your thoughts in the comments.

She's no different than any other gold-digging single mother; she's just more attractive and pampered, and selling herself on TV must have been easier and more fun and lucrative than getting a Real Job. She'll stay married to this guy as long as the money keeps coming in big truck-loads then she'll dump him like so much garbage.

I am very surprised by her choice. To me, our primary communication comes through body language, about 60% in fact. Her body language was way more open with Arie, whereas with Jef, it appears more to be a friendship of equality. If you remember, she never gave Arie the date card because she didn't trust herself. I think she has an inner tug-o-war between being a mom and honoring her erotic true self. She is both/and, not either/or. It will be interesting so see how this relationship plays out over time!
