/ AP(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - Katie Holmes will head back to Broadway in her first major project since announcing her divorce from Tom Cruise.
The 33-year-old actress will star in Theresa Rebeck's "Dead Accounts," a five character comedy that will be directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien.

According to the New York Times, Holmes will play a "fairly unglamorous" character named Lorna, who lives with her aging parents in Cincinnati while trying to pull her own life together.
The play will open this fall at the Music Box Theatre. Dates and other casting news will be announced later.
Holmes made her Broadway debut in 2008, when she appeared in a revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons."
Rebeck, who was a driving force in the first season of NBC's "Smash," has written several plays, including "Seminar" and "Mauritius."
Holmes has reportedly chosen to call New York home following her split from Cruise. Since filing for divorce from the actor last month, she has been spotted around the city with the couple's 6-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise.
She and Cruise announced on July 9 that they had reached a divorce settlement. The "Mission: Impossible" actor traveled to New York earlier this week for a visit with Suri.

- Glad Tom is rid of her. I have seen nothing but a loving husband and father out of him. Her, I see a coniving, calculating, and cold woman, who does not know how to handle the stresses of life. She served him divorce papers at work, and he didn't even know what is going on. She is the typical black widow who does not know how to handle her problems, other than divorce. Evidently didn't talk to her husband about it, and has thrust their family into the eternal torment of divorce. I don't buy this poor Katie getting away from Scientology routine. The absolutely worst people I know claim to be Baptist. Good luck to Tom and his little daughter. I know Tom will have a time healing, and I feel sorry for Suri. Don't feel sorry Katie at all, as she is the perpertrator of this. At least Tom won't have to worry about someone sneaking, and planning behind his back.
