Tom Cruise takes Suri on a helicopter ride

(CBS News) Tom Cruise and daughter Suri took to the friendly skies on their second day together in New York.

The actor, who is in the city for what's reported to be his first visit with the 6-year-old since he and ex Katie Holmes split, went on a helicopter ride with her on Wednesday.

Cruise, 50, was photographed carrying Suri, who wore an orange dress and her hair tied back in a braid, at a heliport on Manhattan's West Side. The little girl could also be seen through the helicopter window in other photos.

The two took a trip above the city on a Liberty helicopter, according to People. Their destination was unknown.

Cruise arrived in New York on Tuesday to visit his daughter. The two will reportedly spend several days together.

It is time for the media to leave this little girl alone. She is being carried with her face in her dad's shoulder for a reason. The media is haunting this little girl and in every picture she is trying to hide herself. Come on parents out there. Start a leave Suri alone movement. Mom and Dad are fair game but its time you people lay off this child.

I read on another site that Tom took Suri on a helicopter ride.
They had to evade all the paps following them and went through many red lights. This isn't a movie. Tom should take more caution.
