Son of Sylvester Stallone dies in L.A.

(CBS/AP) Sage Stallone, the 36-year-old son of actor Sylvester Stallone, has been found dead, a lawyer confirms to CBS News.

George Braunstein, Sage Stallone's attorney, tells CBS News Friday that Sage was found dead at his Hollywood home.

"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son," publicist Michelle Bega said in a statement. "His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha."

Authorities were investigating Sage Stallone's death, but details were not immediately available.

Los Angeles police say they were sent to investigate a death at a home on Friday afternoon, but could not confirm the person's identity or offer details. Coroner's officials also say they were in the initial stages of the investigation.

Braunstein told The New York Post that Sage was in good spirits. "He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy."

Sage Moonblood Stallone was the oldest of Sylvester Stallone's children and co-starred with his father in two films. He was the first of two sons Stallone had with first wife Sasha Czack.

Sage Stallone made his acting debut in 1990's "Rocky V" and also appeared with his father in 1996's "Daylight."

Also in 1996, Sage Stallone and veteran film editor Bob Murawski co-founded Grindhouse Releasing, a company dedicated to preserving and promoting the B-movies and exploitation films of the 1970s and 80s.

Sage Stallone also directed the 2006 short "Vic," which screened at the Palm Springs Film Festival.

No parent should ever have to bury their child...no matter what the circumstances of the child's death are.

I cannot imagine Sly Stallone's pain right now. I can only extend my condolences to him and his loved ones.

Then there are two possible entities to sue, depending on the circumstances:

* the person who killed
* or God in the event the person died of a heart attack or something prematurely

Our society, if we had one instead of being told we're not by a person who retired and subsequently lives off of taxpayer money, would ensure that the possibility of murder is limited - either by having a police state or creating a climate where people are consciously nice to each other and rewarded for that instead.

But biological issues can happen to anyone at any time. Premature heart failure, or other ailment, especially if there's drug influence (I'm not trying to suggest anything here) but anything can happen at any time of its own accord...

What's the definition of "nepotism", again? (Did Sly's son leech off of daddy's name to get anywhere? Nepotism happens, in any field, but at the same time maybe he didn't... even if he and his father were in the same movie together... anything's technically possible...)

Still, welfare coming from family members isn't contested nearly as often as either individual or corporation that takes free money from the government... and in our new normal, the latter qualifier bothers me a heck of a lot more than the former...
