(CBS News) Richie Sambora is striking out on his own again.

The Bon Jovi rocker will release his third solo album, "Aftermath of the Lowdown," on Sept. 18.

It marks his first solo album in 14 years. Lyrically, Sambora gets personal on the new material, tackling everything from his substance abuse problems, to his divorce from Heather Locklear.

"A lot has happened in my life over the last ten years, personal stuff that's cathartic for me to get out," Sambora said in a statement. "Really things that could happen to anybody, but I just happened to be in a band with the biggest concert tour in the world, and in the glare of the public eye."

If a CD drops in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a profit?

I HAVE heard it and it's everything and more than I would have wanted or expected from Richie Sambora. Take the time to hear it before you judge. If the album is at all like the single we are in for some great music.
