D'Angelo and Mary J. Blige to launch co-headlining tour

(CBS News) Fresh off their performances at the Essence Music Festival last weekend, R&B stars D'Angelo and Mary J. Blige have booked a series of co-headlining tour dates called the Liberation Tour.

So far, four shows have been announced, but Blige told Rolling Stone that up to 20 gigs will be booked.

The first announced date -- Aug. 18 in Virginia Beach, Va . -- is already on sale.

D'Angelo is coming off a 12-year hiatus from music. The reclusive singer performed his first shows in the United States in years at Bonnaroo in June. A performance at the BET Awards and an appearance at the Essence Music Festival followed.

He's also slated to play Jay-Z's inaugural Made in America festival in Philadelphia this September.
