Usher reportedly torn up over stepson's accident
Kile Glover, the son of Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, was hit by a Jet Ski Friday while floating in an inner tube being pulled by a pontoon boat on Georgia's Lake Lanier, according to CBS Atlanta affiliate WGCL-TV.
The 11-year-old boy remains in critical condition at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He has had no brain activity since being admitted, according to TMZ.
Usher, who split from Foster in 2009, is said to be very upset. "He grew close to Kyle and, of course, that has nothing to do with the situation with Tameka," a source told Us Weekly. "He loved Kyle. This is a terrible, awful tragedy. Usher is torn up."
Glover was with a 15-year-old friend when the collision happened. The second victim suffered a broken arm and cut on the head, reports WGCL-TV.
Officers said that a family friend, 38-year-old Jeffrey Hubbard, was driving the Jet Ski that ran over Usher's stepson and his friend. Police said charges are pending for Hubbard, but noted that no alcohol was involved. So far, no charges have been filed.
Curtis Frampton, the owner of the Lake Lanier business that rented the personal watercraft, told WSB-TV he feels really bad about the collision. "I take it very personal," he said. "Anytime that an accident like this happens, or any accident happens, I feel bad for the families."
Kyle is Foster's son from her previous marriage to Ryan Glover.
Usher has two children with Foster: Usher V, 4, and Naviyd, 3.
