(CBS News) Details continue to emerge about Usher's 11-year-old stepson, who has reportedly been declared brain dead after being struck by a Jet Ski on Friday.

Officers said Monday that 38-year-old Jeffrey Hubbard, a family friend, ran over Kyle Glover and another friend with a personal watercraft while they were floating in an inner tube being pulled by a pontoon boat on Georgia's Lake Lanier, according to CBS Atlanta affiliate WGCL-TV.

Glover, the son of Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, and the friend, a 15-year-old girl, were flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston in critical condition, WGCL-TV reports. The girl is now said to be in stable condition with deep cuts to her head and a broken arm.

Two Department of Natural Resources rangers witnessed the accident and saved the girl, according to the affiliate's report. The boy was reportedly rescued by a pair of Good Samaritans.

Officers said alcohol was not a factor, WGCL-TV reports. They have not filed charges, but are still investigating.

Glover was struck in the head during the incident, according to reports.

TMZ reported Sunday that doctors have declared Glover brain dead following the accident. According to the website, the boy has not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted to the hospital.

Usher and Foster, who divorced in 2009 and are currently battling over custody of their two sons, are both reportedly at the hospital.

Foster spoke to RadarOnline on Sunday, simply saying, "He's bad."

She also reportedly updated her Facebook page, according to RadarOnline, to say, "Kyle, You are strong.. You'll be saved I know it. I love you my baby. I need all #Prayers for my son! thanks you everybody!"

It is very hard to call all of one's family and friend with updates. hard to say the words once, much less over and over. hard to hear the sincere grief, the sincere prayers from one's friends and family. Facebook can be a godsend, updating people with just one or two sentences. typing can be easier than giving the thoughts voice. Facebook, along with CaringBridge, which is Mayo's "social networking" site for families that are facing tough medical issues, really do help.

It could be just me, but if my child was in the hospital and pronounced "brain dead", the last place I would be is FACEBOOK!

I totally agree erasmus, have a family member keep everyone in the know. Facebooking while your son is dying, is so disturbing to me. Poor child. Tamika proved to the world her selfishness, shallowness, vanity and truly the only thing that mattered to her was Money when she showed how nasty of human-side in her divorce.
