Prince William and Kate take in tennis at Wimbledon

(CBS/AP) WIMBLEDON, England - Wimbledon got a dose of royalty on Wednesday when Prince William and his wife, Kate, came to watch the men's quarterfinals on Centre Court.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 30, were given a loud ovation as they took their seats in the Royal Box ahead of six-time champion Roger Federer's match against Mikhail Youzhny.

The duchess wore a white cable-knit dress with dark trim by Alexander McQueen - the same outfit she wore during the royal couple's tour of Canada last summer.

William and Kate also watched Britain's Andy Murray face off against David Ferrer of Spain, but reportedly left before Murray's victory at the end of the match. The couple may have had to leave early, the U.K.'s Press Association notes, in order to travel to Scotland, where William was installed as a Knight of the Order of the Thistle on Thursday.

Last week, Prince Charles made his first visit to Wimbledon since 1970. Kate's sister Pippa Middleton has also been to the All England Club during this tournament.

William and Kate also watched Murray play at Wimbledon last year.
