"America's Got Talent": Judging passes to viewers

(CBS News) "America's Got Talent" aired a two-hour episode Monday night  in which judging was turned over to the viewers, who were treated to performances from 12 of the top 48 acts.

At the end of the performances, home audiences are given the final say, choosing the four acts that get to move on to the next round.

The Distinguished Men of Brass, the marching band act, kicked off the performances and the group made it through without one of the judges hitting his or her "X."

Howie Mandel commended the band, saying, "I see potential and I hope America sees potential."

Next, Edon, the 14-year-old singer and piano player, sang "Titanium" by David Guetta. Sharon Osborne, who praised him in Vegas, said, "Amazing song choice. You hit every single note."

Other acts the judges liked included 6-year-old hip-hop dancer Lil Starr, American BMX Stunt Team, The Scott Brothers, the team of street dancers, singers Shanice and Maurice Hayes and painters/dancers David Garibaldi and his CMYKs.

The four acts that get to move on will be determined during tonight's results show at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
