Banana Republic to release line inspired by "Anna Karenina"

(CBS News) After the success of its "Mad Men" collection, Banana Republic has announced that it will release a line inspired by "Anna Karenina."

The brand is using Joe Wright's highly-anticipated adaptation, starring Keira Knightley and Jude Law, as a reference, reports Women's Wear Daily.

"It's a very different take on 'Anna Karenina,'" said Banana Republic's creative director and executive vice president of design Simon Kneen of the film to WWD. "Costume designer Jacquline Durran said her brief was using a bit more Fifties-influence of Dior's New Look. It was historical but had a twist to it as well."

The line features faux fur collars, hats, coats and pearls all inspired by the 19th century Russia high society-set film.

The collection is to be released in October and film hits theaters on Nov. 9.
