BET Awards 2012: Jamie Foxx wears Trayvon Martin shirt

(CBS News) Jamie Foxx threw his support behind Trayvon Martin at the BET Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles.
Foxx sported a red T-shirt with a black-and-white image of the Florida teen, who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman in February. The photo featured Martin in his now-famous hoodie.
The 44-year-old actor/singer also wore the shirt on stage as he presented an award, another sign intended to make a statement on the controversial matter that has taken the nation by storm.
Back in February, Foxx voiced his support for Martin's family after their 17-year-old son was killed.
Foxx, meanwhile, has a big year coming up career-wise. He's starring in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained," due around the holidays. He's also attached to the upcoming Bruce Willis film, "Kane & Lynch."
This was nothing more than a marketing tool. I wonder why he doesn't wear the faces of other kids that have been killed. The reason is because those other kids weren't high profile in the national news and could do absolutely nothing for his career.
I agree. Why do celebrities always have to come out in support of something when (in general) they don't know any more than the rest of us. Using celebrity to support a cause is as bad as some billionaire using his money to prob up some a**hole Republican.
