(CBS News) Ann Curry continued to co-host NBC's "Today" show Friday amid reports she may soon be replaced.

Although Curry hasn't said a word about the recent reports, the 55-year-old journalist did open up in an earlier interview for the August issue of Ladies' Home Journal, which hits newsstands July 10.

Curry, who replaced Meredith Vieira last year, spoke about ABC's "Good Morning America" beating "Today" in the ratings this spring for the first time since 1995.

"It's hard not to take it personally," Curry told the magazine. "You worry, Am I not good enough? Am I not what people need? Am I asking the right questions? When people say negative things or speculate, you can't help but feel hurt. I know NBC pays my salary but I have never doubted who I work for. I think about the people who watch. They're the ones who matter to me. I want to feel I haven't dropped the ball when it comes to them."

When asked where she sees herself in 10 years, Curry said, "I've been at 'Today' for 15 years and I'd love to make it to 20. I think eventually I want to become a teacher, like my father wanted to be, and hopefully positively influence the next generation."

Earlier this week, The New York Times reported that NBC News had discussed finding a replacement for Curry. Although nothing has been confirmed, several names have been tossed around, including Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Natalie Morales.

Vieira still makes occasional appearances on the morning show. According to TMZ, two weeks ago network officials asked Vieira to return, but she declined.

But - today is Thursday not Friday.

Is it taped the day before?

Did they mean to say -

"Ann Curry will 'continue to' co-host NBC's "Today" show Friday"

For some reason, I liked her so much more before she took the c-host job.

Ann is the best. Hoda is not. That's like replacing a Rolls with an old used Chevy.

I've said they should try two guys on the Today Show. Too bad that Arsenio is coming back with a new talk show next year on CBS.

The most shocking part of the story is that Curry is 55 years old! I though early to mid-40's at the oldest.

Ann Curry has always been an absolute asset for "Today". She has all the qualifications and abilities to do what she has been doing for over 10 years, and NBC sholud do evething possible to retain her. She is an very positive, effective, and respectful interviewer and presenter. Do not even think about replacing her with Hoda Kotb who, like her partner KatheyLee, has a bad reputation for promoting drinking at all times. And Savannah and Natalie are doing fine in the jobs they have now.

First Sue Simmons, now Ann Curry. Neurotic Matt is the who should go. Comcast is really screwing up NBC.

Ann is obviously a hard working and caring person. I really like her, the manner in which she handles herself is commendable, and I do not want to see her go. i remember watching the day she so graciously tried to present Ellen Degenerist a boque of farwell flowers. Ann was so kind, and Ellen would not even accept the beautiful flowers. That was such a cruel act, and insulting as well. The nastiest thing I had seen in return for kindness, left a sour taste in my mouth for Ellen. Yet, Ann kept her composure and gracefully left the set. This is wrong to release Ann. Every possible step to prevent this should be taken, and soon.

That was all a set-up, you *******. The whole premise of the gag was that Ann gave the flowers to the wrong person. Oprah was the one retiring, not Ellen. It was a gag. Try getting your facts straight before you spew nonsense.

A news anchor, in my humble opinion, needs to have a charismatic personality and appearance but be humble enough NOT to flaunt it.
Ann Curry is so much more a real person than even Kate Couric was.
But, her colleagues have their own goals and those are personal goals not be shared with anyone else, especially Ann Curry, an intelligent caring news reporter.
