(CBS News) Halle Berry was reportedly ordered by a family law judge to pay ex Gabriel Aubry $20,000 a month in child support, amidst the former couple's ongoing custody battle over their 4-year-old daughter, Nahla.

Lawyers for both Berry and Aubrey were in court on Monday, where the judge made the order, TMZ reports. There was never a child support order issued by a judge until then, according to the website. The couple split in 2010.

Berry recently asked the court's permission to move Nahla with her to Paris, where she and her fiance, French actor Olivier Martinez, hope to live, Us Weekly reports.

Martinez, 46, popped the question to the 45-year-old Academy Award-winner during the holidays. The two met on the set of the film "Dark Tide."

So finally girls will now feel what men have been feeling all along. Not to mention "Only 1 in 20 can get their support reduced even after a loss of a job" - Solangel Maldonado - Law Professer. And No I dont think anyone should have to pay support after divorce. If you divorce each person should have to take care of the child each of their own accord.

P.S. By the way if you think your defending the child by supporting child support, think again, there are no laws that dictate the money must be spent on food shelter or clothing.

$20K/mo is an outlandish settlement. No child costs that mush to support unless you're literally throwing money away.

The loser ex probably lived off of her and didn't work. If he doesn't have the kid, then maybe throw him a few bones. That's what they often do to the wife if she hadn't worked during the marriage. I know women often get the upper hand when it comes to kids, but I don't think we know the whole story.

You're kiddin, right? "Loser?" Is that because he won? "Probably lived off of her?" You mean like lots of women married to rich men? "Didn't work?" He was probably a domestic specialist. "Few bones?" Hey, throw me all the $20k per month bones you want and call me anything you want. He won the case, get over it. It's the new trend. Equality is a bummer sometimes.

I hope she can take her child to the UK and get away from this loser. He should leave Halle and her baby alone. She should be with her mother-period!

There is no way to justify that kind of child support. It is nice to see justice go the other way though. No she should not be able to take the child out of the country. She has her new squeeze now. She can come back to the states for visitation.

ALL of the custody courts are broken. One of my sons was married for 15 years, in the Army and had 4 kids. British wife decided she didn't like any part of the U.S. and they should live in the U.K. when he got out of the Army. She'll go ahead and get set up. Took the kids, sold everything they owned, took all the money and then said "DIVORCE". What's the result? Lived in CO, worked for the state in corrections was bringing home $2400 a month and the court said he has to pay $1100 a month. He got it lowered to $800. She won't let him see/talk to the kids. Not a thing he can do, but PAY.

After the stunts some of these women pull with the Courts help, I am not surprised so many of them spend a lot of time looking over their shoulders.

The military leans heavily towards women in cases of child custody and divorce. Unfortunately.

yes but don't forget, she's also a psycho ***** trying to steal his child. So he has to put up with that. Personally I think he's earning the money. I say this as a mother who would NEVER deprive her kids of their father, even if we divorced.
