The new film adaptation, directed by Tom Hooper ("The King's Speech") also stars Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette and Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter as the Thenardiers.

Fantine is 27, Anne is 29. Not a huge age difference.

Delightful!

I much prefer the actor's voice to a professional dub.

I am not dissing Anne Hathaway's looks or talents when I say this but I say she's far too old for the part of Fantine.

She is only one year older than when Uma Thurman played the same role.
