Lady Gaga's fake Rolex tweet angers Thai fans
Lady Gaga blows a kiss upon her arrival in a hotel Saturday, May 19, 2012, in Manila's financial district of Makati, Philippines.
/ Pat Roque(CBS/AP) Lady Gaga is in Bangkok and ready to go shopping - for a fake Rolex.
That comment she made in a tweet caused an uproar among her Thai fans who called it offensive, insulting and bad for the country's image.
The pop star tweeted to her 24 million Twitter followers, "I just landed in Bangkok baby! Ready for 50,000 screaming Thai monsters. I wanna get lost in a lady market and buy fake Rolex."
The singer's comment is the latest publicity-making turn of events as "The Born This Way Ball" travels through Asia.
Lady Gaga's provocative lyrics and costumes have angered Christian groups in South Korea and the Philippines and Islamists in Indonesia, where the show may be banned.
