Kristen Wiig says goodbye on "Saturday Night Live" season finale
Mick Jagger bids farewell to Kristen Wiig in the season finale of "Saturday Night Live" on May 19, 2012.
/ NBC(CBS News) Kristen Wiig bid farewell to "Saturday Night Live," after seven years on the show, with an emotional musical sendoff on the show's season finale Saturday.
In the last sketch of the night, Mick Jagger, who hosted the show, acted as a principal at a high school graduation. Wiig, wearing a cap and gown, was called up as "one particular student who is leaving this summer."
She danced with Jagger to the Rolling Stones classic "She's a Rainbow" and then worked her way through dancing with all the other cast members and the show's executive producer Lorne Michaels. She appeared to be holding back tears as some cast members whispered things in her ears as they danced together.
Wiig's departure does not come as a surprise after it had been rumored that she would be leaving the show. She co-wrote and starred in the hit comedy "Bridesmaids" and has been in several other films including "Friends with Kids" and "Knocked Up."
Fellow cast members Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis' contracts are also up as well and have been rumored to be leaving the show, but there has been no word as to whether or not they will depart.
