Spears, 30, tweeted the news by posting a photo of herself, alongside Lovato, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid of "The X Factor":

Lovato, 19, followed suit on her Twitter page:

The announcement comes after a major shake-up after season one, which ended with both Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger leaving the show.

There's no word yet on who will replace Steve Jones as host.

Well, maturity wise, L.A. and Simon have found their match with these girls.

I used to love American Idol back when it first debuted in like 2000 with Kelly and Justin, etc. But it started to get tired around seasons 3 to 5 (the last time the show succeeded in actually delivering a star - Season 1 Kelly, Season 2 Clay, Season 3 Jennifer Hudson, Season 4 Carrie Underwood, Season 5 Chris Daughtry ... there have been others who have done well on Broadway, like Constantine Maroulis - Season 4 or 5?). And then there's been all these knock-offs (America's Got Talent, The Voice, etc.)

I sometimes tune it, but not like I used to. I barely watched X Factor with Simon and Paula because it felt so circa 2000. But still, even with the change of judges, not feeling much more interested.

May watch Duets ...

Hahaha! Your argument is invalid since you mentioned Daughtry and Aiken are stars. Here's an idea. Get off your couch and go have a life outside of your living room. "May watch Duets..." WHAT!?
