Jon Hamm lands first leading film role in "The Million Dollar Arm"

(CBS News) Jon Hamm is heading back to the big screen - this time, in a leading role.

The "Mad Men" star is attached to the Disney sports drama "The Million Dollar Arm," Deadline reports.

The film is based on the true story of American sports agent J.B. Bernstein, who staged a reality show in India to find cricket players who could play professional baseball, according to Deadline. He ended up bringing 19-year-olds Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel to the U.S., where they because the first Indian players to sign with a major league team.

This will be Hamm's first leading film role. His other movie credits include supporting roles in "Friends with Kids," "Bridesmaids" and "The Town."
