Those looking to recreate the duchess' fashion statement can find the brooch at the Legion's online shop, where it sells for $40.
The reception William, 29, and Kate, 30, attended was to mark the achievements of a group of British soldiers who recreated the Scott-Amundsen race to the South Pole. The expedition, of which William is patron, was in support of the British Royal Legion.
British tabloids gleefully reported that the royal couple fawned over a baby at the event - the son of one of the adventurers. According to the Daily Mail, the boy's father said William was "a natural" with the infant, and added, "Kate said the baby was 'very cute' and had doting eyes on him."
Later Thursday, the couple will continue the military theme with a visit to London's Imperial War Museum to launch a fundraising campaign to create new galleries for World War I exhibits, according to the Daily Beast.
On Wednesday, the William and Kate attended the U.K. premiere of the Disney documentary "African Cats." It was their first public outing since the prince returned from his deployment to the Falkland Islands last month.
The royal couple celebrates their one-year wedding anniversary on Sunday.
