Neil Diamond and Katie McNeil tie the knot

(CBS News) Good times never seemed so good for Neil Diamond.

The "Sweet Caroline" crooner married his manager, Katie McNeil, on Saturday, People reports.

Diamond, 71, and McNeil, 42, reportedly exchanged vows in front of close family and friends in Los Angeles.

This is the first marriage for McNeil and the third for Diamond, who announced their engagement via Twitter last September.

"Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you're the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well," he wrote. Diamond also tweeted that he was "lovestruck" by his new fiancee.

The couple met in 2009, when McNeil produced Diamond's documentary, "Neil Diamond: Hot August Night/NYC."

No doubt there is an air tight pre-nup agreement. Hopefully, she truely loves him for himself and not the money. She probably has plenty of money herself considering she has never been married before, was a producer, and she was his manager.

I sing on occasion. I wish I could sing just 1/10 as good as Neil Diamond. I have to admit it.... I'm totally jealous of his singing ability.... About every couple of months, I go back and watch and listen to some of his performances again on U-Tube.. Dang, he's good... The funny and sad part of it is I didn't really appreciate him much back in his day.. I don't know why.. I should have had my rear-end kicked so I'd wake up a little.
