(CBS News) Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have reportedly started dating after being friends for some time.

A source told People magazine that the two are in the early stages of dating and are keeping things "light" and "seeing where it goes."

West, 34, and Kardashian, 31, were spotted on a movie date to see "The Hunger Games" in New York City on Wednesday night, according to TMZ. The pair was also spotted out at lunch on New York's Upper East Side the next day.

Kardashian, who helped co-host NBC's "Today" show Friday, told Ann Curry, "Kanye and I have been friends for years. And you never know what the future holds or where my life will take me."

West released a new song, "Theraflu," Wednesday, in which he professes his love for Kardashian.

"I admit I fell in love with Kim, 'Round the same time she fell in love with him," reads the lyric. ("Him" presumably being the reality star's ex, New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries.)

Kardashian wed Humphries in August, but the pair split after 72 days of marriage.

I personally do not understand the fascination with this family, much less Kim herself. I think Kim's ex-husband was duped into believing that his marriage was the "real deal", but the entire Kardashian empire knew all along that it was a publicity stunt, as is their entire show. Bruce Jenner, who has himself made many mistakes in his own personal life, must be totally humiliated to even be associated with the very public display of this totally dysfunctional family, if it can even be called a "family". The programming network involved in promoting the Kardashion clan should seriously consider terminating any future involvement with this so-called "family" and focus, instead, on providing the entertainment that the public should not only expect, but demand.

There are very few people I truly can not stand but both of these people made the list. She changed my mind about her with her wedding debacle. Who only stays married for 72 days after raking in millions of dollars? She is a scam and has no heart- she is a completly empty person and I do feel for her. And what can I say about ol Kanye. He is the only person that I have literally gone to my music collection and DELETED music by that artist because he is just so ridiculous. He has made a fool out of himself so many times and just seems to continue (and not really care). I guess these two deserve each other lol.
