Except for the mask, NOTHING about it even faintly says Lone Ranger. Did he ever wear the mask AND a badge? I thought the Texas Ranger died when the Lone Ranger was born. Tonto's head gear is more "Quest for Fire" or "Apocalypse Now" than Tonto. All that said, I'll watch it because Depp hasn't failed me yet, and I'm an optimist...
One movie i hope they never remake unless they stay true to the original is my favorite movie of all time "The Magnificent Seven" with Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen and a powerhouse cast - leave that one alone Hollywood!

"My great grandmother was quite a bit of Native American, she grew up Cherokee or maybe Creek Indian. Makes sense in terms of coming from Kentucky, which is rife with Cherokee and Creek.'"
