An email was sent to audience members on Wednesday about the shows cancellation and the letter has since been tweeted by several fans hoping to attend the show's taping. The Thursday show has also been cancelled, reports Digital Spy.
Comedy Central has not provided any further comment on why the shows tapings have been called off, reports Digital Spy.
Colbert has rarely missed tapings of the series and even hosted an episode in 2010 while sick.
