(CBS) This weekend, First Lady Michelle Obama, known for mixing low price off-the-rack items with designer duds, was spotted wearing a $39.99 Jason Wu for Target dress while doing a press event in Florida.

The designer's line for Target went on sale Feb. 5 and flew off the shelves almost as soon as it went on sale, but it looks like the first lady was able to snatch up the Sleeveless Chiffon Dress in Navy Floral with Gold Belt.

Obama, of course, added her own sense of style to the ensemble swapping the gold belt for a red one and cinching it over a blue cardigan.

Obama has a history with the designer: She put Wu on the map in 2009 when she wore an ivory gown he designed at her husband's inaugural ball.

Tell us: What do you think of the first lady's look?

I was just wondering about the sheer number of Obama hating right wingers are spewing hate on this forum about Michelle's choice of clothes but hardly any GOP supporters are writing on the forum regarding Santorum's wish to get rid of public schools. Is it simply because it is easier for the right to attack trivial social issues while it is more taxing to examine deeper and far reaching issues?

What's the difference between an Obama hater and a GOP hater? Not much at all. Both are pretty darn annoying when all they do is whine, whine, whine and cry.

It's much like using simple drawings to communicate with illiterates ! Anything more substantial and inellectual would not be comprehended by the left !

Each time Michelle wears something sales for that particular item goes up. Remember how there were lines outside of J Crew due to one of her outfits? Think of the sales gained. I thought we needed more spending entering our economy to help the recovery?

Um, the shades of blue on the sweater and dress totally clash and the red belt over the sweater is horrid.

Agree on the belt, disagree about the blues.

Uh, no. Looks to me like there is some read in the dress that would tie into the red belt very well.

Did palin return the hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of clothes she purchased on tax payer dollars yet?

Style opinions aside, where was this dress made? I bet not in the USA. I sew some of my own clothes, but I doubt I could make something like this for that price even if I priced my own labor time at minimum wage, which would be too little. At least she could have a dress made from a pattern by someone doing the work in the USA. There are many pattern companies one can buy from, and DIY from them is an example most people could follow. This also provides more room for individual creativity.
