Amber Riley covers Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" on "Glee"
(CBS) "Glee's" Amber Riley covered Whitey Houston's hit song, "I Will Always Love You," in last night's episode, just three days after the singer's death.
Riley sang the song in the show's Valentine's Day episode, in which her character Mercedes bids farewell to her boyfriend Shane and her ex Sam.
The cover was written and planned by the show's production team long before Houston's death, according to Us Weekly, but the show's producers decided to dedicate the episode to the late singer adding a special title card at the end of the credits saying, "Whitney Houston 1963-2012. We will always love you."
Jennifer Hudson performed the same Houston hit during the "In Memoriam" tribute during Sunday's Grammy Awards show.
Riley tweeted about Hudson's tribute on Sunday.
"That was absolutely beautiful Jennifer Hudson. Absolutely beautiful! Made me smile. Great Tribute," said the "Glee" star.
