Tony Bennett shares touching Grammy moment with Amy Winehouse's parents

(CBS/AP) Whitney Houston wasn't the only late singer remembered at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. One of the Grammy show's most poignant moments was one that TV viewers didn't see.

When Tony Bennett received the Grammy for best pop performance by a duo or group for his duet with Amy Winehouse, he invited the late singer's parents to join him on stage during the awards ceremony's pre-show segment.

"We shouldn't be here. Our darling daughter should be here," Winehouse's father, Mitch, said after he and the singer's mother, Janis, had embraced Bennett.

His daughter was thrilled, Winehouse said, to have recorded the Grammy-winning song "Body and Soul" with Bennett.

Mitch Winehouse also noted Whitney Houston's death Saturday and the recent passing of Etta James.

"What can I say? There's a beautiful girl band up in heaven," he said.

In 2008, Winehouse won multiple Grammys, including record of the year, song of the year and best female pop vocal performance for "Rehab."

I waited 3 and a half looooong hours, anticipating a tribute to Amy. She was the first British woman to walk away with...what...5 Grammys????? And you treat her like sh_t?

I hate you people, whoever made the most callous and flippant screw in the history of the Grammies.

IF YOU RECALL, Whitney OD'd as well then was found in a most inglorious way, bloated in her bathtub. Yummy. So much more dignified than how Amy died.

Believe me, had Amy had an extra 20 years, she would be more famous then Etta and Whitney, put together.

And Adele??? She's great, only because she does her best to emulate AMY WINEHOUSE. Adele almost killed her career wih cigarrettes!

I like Adele, I love her music, but, she's no Amy Winehouse who truly wrote and sang from her soul, much more talented and much more honest writing and singing...

There is not one video capturing Amy in a compromised position, that cant be outshown by Whitney Houston. We'd like to blame Bobby, but she told Barbara Walters, that no, she smoke crack in the hood way before, actually liked smoking in combined with weed, " kinda like a speed ball" she said...

I'm sick of Whitney. RIP, but good riddance. I still cry over Amy's demise. Everyday, I am reminded of her in some way. I never felt that way about the plastic pop Houston had others write for her! If it it weren't for her songwriters, she'd of gone by the way of any one who loves crack.

For CBS to deny, disregard, ignore Amy Winehouse was the biggest mistake they ever made. And ya know, Adele could have at least mentioned her.

Wait! She probably did and it got swept into the trash like the other clippings that had anything to do with Amy.

The only way to rectify this in ANY way is for CBS to apologize and release ALL of the clips in a special show about how they trashed her.

I can't believe Tony Bennet let them get away with this!!! He won his Grammy for his duet with WHO??? That's right, Amy Winehouse. She deserves a post-humous Grammy. She was half of the duet, for Gods sake. Shame on you, Tony. You have enough clout to have protested and made it different, at least as a thank you to Amy.

But no, EVERYONE silently let it slide right on by, hell who would remember the first woman to win 5 Grammy's who died THIS year.
