Beyonce, Jay-Z file application to trademark Blue Ivy's name

(CBS) Beyonce and Jay-Z may have a future fashionista on their hands. The new parents filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect the name of their month-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

They filed the application on Jan. 26 for products -- and there's speculation they plan to use it for a line of baby-related products, carriages, baby cosmetics and diaper bags, according to the Washington Post.

It's a good thing the couple were quick to trademark the name. Other people have tried to cash in on the newborn, filing applications for variations on the name. But they've been denied. The trademark office said it's reserved for a "very famous infant," the Post reports.

Now they want to "trade mark" the baby name, why they do not trade mark the music? exactly! if they think their baby name is too good for people to use in her honor, then my hard earn money is too good to spend on someone's music who thinks so little of our desire to honor them by naming the child after theirs!
