Kris Kristofferson to receive honor in Nashville

(Credit: Getty)According to the Associated Press, the singer-songwriter-actor will receive the Frances Williams Preston Lifetime Music Industry Award at a March 26 fundraising gala to help find a cure for leukemia.
Kristofferson, 75, released his most recent album, "Closer to the Bone," in 2009. In the last couple of years, he has focused on acting and has a batch of films in the works, including "Blackbird," starring Olivia Wilde and Eric Bana, along with "The Motel Life" with Dakota Fanning and Emile Hirsch. Kristofferson is also part of "Shoedog" with Ethan Hawke and Heather Graham.
On a separate note, Kristofferson's son is making a go at wrestling. TMZ reports that "Big Country" Jody Kristofferson, 24, is on his way to become a WWE star. He signed a deal with the WWE and is at training facility in Florida this month.
