"The Amazing Spider-Man": Official trailer debuts online
(CBS) The official trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man" has hit the World Wide Web.
The two-and-a-half-minute clip arrived online following a preview in movie theaters on Monday night.
Pictures: Andrew Garfield, the new "Spider-Man"This new spin on the Marvel superhero stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as love interest Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as the villain Lizard. The film was directed by Marc Webb ("500 Days of Summer").
Denis Leary plays Stacy's father, a policeman on the hunt for the web-slinger. Sally Field and Martin Sheen play Parker's aunt and uncle, May and Ben Parker.
The trailer, like the teaser that was released last summer, highlights the film's high-flying special effects and Parker's origin story. There's also glimpses of Garfield and Stone's on-screen chemistry (which turned into a reported off-screen romance).
"The Amazing Spider-Man" hits theaters on July 3.
