(CBS) "The Voice," NBC's popular singing reality competition show, drew a household rating of 19.4 when it played after the Super Bowl on Sunday - a 27 percent gain from when Fox aired "Glee" after the 2011 Super Bowl, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

"The Voice's" ratings were boosted thanks to NBC's telecast of Super Bowl XLVI, which set a record as the third most-watched NFL broadcast of all time, with a 47.8 rating and 71 share, Nielsen Media Research said Monday.

The rating of the New York Giant's victory over the New England Patriots was less than 1 percent shy of the record tied by last year's Super Bowl.

The rating is the percentage of television households tuned to a broadcast, and the share is the percentage of homes watching among those with TVs on at the time.
