Daniel Radcliffe showed up drunk to "Harry Potter" set

(CBS) Daniel Radcliffe has already admitted to at one time being "reliant" on alcohol, but now the actor says he used to show up to the "Harry Potter" film set drunk.

In a new interview with British celebrity magazine Heat, Radcliffe, 22, revealed, he would drink "nightly." Which means some of your favorite scenes may have featured a drunken wizard.

"I can honestly say I never drank at work on 'Harry Potter,'" said Radcliffe. "I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work. I can point to many scenes where I'm just gone. Dead behind the eyes."

The British actor, who has since given up alcohol completely, said he has a very addictive personality, adding, "It was a problem."

"People with problems like that are very adept at hiding it," he revealed to the magazine. "It was bad. I don't want to go into details, but I drank a lot and it was daily - I mean nightly."

Radcliffe stars in the new thriller, "The Woman in Black," which opened in theaters on Friday.

by arno0091 February 6, 2012 10:46 PM EST: The treatment industry (Hazelden and Betty Ford) are excited about this opportunity to earn some money. The 12 step program was never designed to be turned into a large treatment industry. Unfortunately, Hazelden has used the 12 step concepts as a tool to make a profit. And the 12 steps are not the only way to recover from addiction to drugs and alcohol, although most treatment centers want the insurance companies to believe that. This actor is already abstinent from alcohol and drugs and with no help from 12 step brainwash or rif-raf. Good for him and thank goodness that Bill W. and Dr. Bob had a cautious view of the treatment industry and psychotherapy. Twelve-step work is not to be paid for.; Reply to this comment

I suppose he graduated from alcohol. Left unsaid of course. Most people who do narcotics no longer do alcohol.

by americalove1 February 5, 2012 5:35 AM EST: To me, the bigger issue is, where the heck were his parents? He was a teen during those years. Why weren't they doing what parents are supposed to do - watch their kids and respond to their behavior accordingly.

You can't convince me a parent can't tell when their kid has been drinking or is drunk!
