(CBS) Madonna plans to go on tour to support her upcoming album, and when she does, she'll likely charge big bucks for a ticket to get inside. There's talk that dates have already been booked, and Live Nation president Michael Rapino told the Los Angeles Times that tickets will go on sale after Madonna plays the Super Bowl on Sunday.

When asked by Newsweek if her tickets will be very pricey this time around, Madonna said her fans should work all year and scrape their money together because she's worth it.

"So start saving your pennies now," she said. "People spend $300 on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together, and come to my show. I'm worth it."

Madonna's last tour grossed $408 million worldwide, the most ever for a solo artist.

Madge's new album, "MDNA," comes out on March 26. It's part of a three-album deal the pop star recently signed with Interscope Records. The lead single, "Gimme Me All Your Luvin,'" with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj, surfaced this week.

It saddens me that Madonna can still (or ever) command $300+/night for her shows. The woman has contributed little if anything to music for the better. Her singing ability is marginal at best, but this is of course irrelevant considering her "performances" sum up to her half-hearted attempts at dancing and lip-syncing. She's never written any of her own music or lyrics, and she hasn't influenced anybody of musical merit in her entire career. You don't have to like The Beatles to know that they (almost) single-handedly ushered in rock and pop music, and have directly influenced every great musician that came after them. Who has Madonna influenced? Britney Spears and Kesha? She needs to retire.

It is absurd to think that booking Madonna with four Rap artists known for their profanity-laced lyrics was goining to lead to anything other than a show with graphic content. That Cee Lo and LMAFO managed to get through their performances without having to resort to their LCD pandering is much to their credit. The rest speaks for itself. At least we weren't subjected to Lady Gaga's overt iditocy; but rather, Madonna's regeir attempts at covering up her mediocracy with controversial imagry. Ah, the classics!

Seeing Madonna's premiere video on American Idol and she is starting to show her age. Interscope has Pia Toscano waiting in the wings and they should have Pia be on tour with Madonna.
