Sofia Vergara named "Most Desirable Woman" of 2012

(CBS) Sofia Vergara topped the list of AskMen.com's 99 Most Desirable Women of 2012. The "Modern Family" actress was joined on the list by Lady Gaga, Rooney Mara and Nicki Minaj.

"I am so honored to be AskMen's most desired woman this year. A big thank you to all the men who desire me," Vergara said in a statement.

The "Top 99 Most Desirable Women" list is generated by AskMen readers' preferences on what attributes they desire in a partner, such as intelligence, talent, character, and beauty.

For the second year in a row, a TV star has topped the list. Last year's most desirable woman was Blake Lively ("Gossip Girl"), who dropped down to No. 32 in 2012.

This year right behind Vergara is model Kate Upton, followed by "The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo" star Rooney Mara, model Miranda Kerr and singer Nicki Minaj.
