Demi Moore hospitalized for substance abuse, TMZ reports

(CBS) Demi Moore was hospitalized late Monday in Los Angeles and TMZ reports the hospitalization was linked to substance abuse.

The website did not cite named sources, but said that the actress, who split up with husband Ashton Kutcher in November, will "seek further professional assistance" for the substance abuse.

Paramedics rushed to Moore's L.A. home around 10:45 p.m. Monday and transported her to a nearby hospital.

A publicist told TMZ, "Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."

Moore split with Kutcher, who stars on CBS' "Two and a Half Men," in the wake of allegations that he had been cheating on her.

These "stars" seem to think their money will keep them from such things. When you live wrong, do wrong, expect these things to happen. Do the morally right thing in your lives, you may bypass some of these after effects, otherwise, suck it up.

You know, I'm not sure these substance abuse centers are very useful. I called up one and asked what kind of alcohol they served in their alcohol treatment program. They said they don't serve any alcohol and never will! I said that's silly, how can they give me an alcohol treatment if they don't give me any alcohol???? They got upset so I gave up ..... waste of time....

Another sad story of an over-the-hill 50 year old Hollywood has-been. If they ever did a re-make of the Billy Wider classic "Sunset Boulevard", Demi Moore would be prefect for Gloria Swanson's character Norma Desmond.

Let's be real.....fairly typical over the hill female in hollywood. The looks are going, the talent was always lacking...she is no longer eye candy for the camera and will have to rely on talent and favors to get work. How anyone that has made the money she has withouy really working is exhausted is strange to say the least. Get the help you need before you become another dead starlet!

It's funny that these Hollywood celebrities are always being hospitalized for problems like "exhaustion" or "dehydration."
Their publicists really work overtime to grind out the B.S. to cover up what's really going on.
