The 14-year-old actress, who stood out in red Tuesday, did not disappoint, wearing a sleeveless, belted Proenza Schouler dress in green and black. She wore no jewelry and paired the edgy, graphic dress with plain black pumps.
But the standouts of the night were Lea Michele in a white flapper outfit and Julianne Hough in a sparkly, backless gown. For a change, singer-actress Miley Cyrus drew accolades for an outfit that was low-cut but not slutty.
Michele wore a detailed, white, fringed dress from Marchesa Spring 2012 with platform sandals. Hough drew attention with a long-sleeved, high-necked metallic dress that was cut low enough in the back to draw comment.
Cyrus, who accompanied beau Liam Hemsworth to the gala, wore a cream-colored David Koma dress that was cut very low but covered with a see-through panel. She wore it with Jimmy Choo pumps, which she tweeted about during the show, and a Marchesa clutch.
The trends that emerged were sparkles (Hough, Sharon Osbourne, Lucy Hale), lace accents (Nina Dobrev, Jennifer Morrison, Ashley Greene) and an emerald shade of green (Nina Dobrev, Emma Stone, Whitney Cummings).
